Interns could deal with everything from constituent responses, to researching policy initiatives, database maintenance, etc.  It should give them a good feel for what it’s like to work in the legislature, and it’s how a lot of staffers get their start in the building.  Anyone that is interested can send their resume to

Senator Tiffany

Senator Tiffany is currently looking for students who are interested in interning in his State Capitol office. This internship is unpaid, but is a great opportunity for hard-working individuals to gain valuable political and policy experience. Students with interests in politics, communications, sporting and outdoor heritage, or finance are encouraged to apply. Office hours are Mon-Fri, 9:00 am-5:00 pm. Scheduling will be flexible, but interns are expected to be available at least 6-8 hours a week.

Rep. Tranel is accepting applications to fill a full-time Legislative Aide position in his office. The LA in the office will handle scheduling, constituent relations, answering the office telephone, and other general office duties. Applicants must have good written and verbal communication skills. Additionally, all applicants must be proficient in Microsoft Office and have knowledge of the Forward Database.

The Wisconsin State Legislature is seeking a social media coordinator to manage the internet presence of legislators and assist in the development and execution of a social media involving creative copy, graphics and videos. In addition, this position will develop and maintain website and intranet sites, create internal communications, manage external public relations campaigns within a team environment, and assist in communication training sessions. Please note that this position supports the Wisconsin Assembly Republicans.


Qualified individuals will have exceptional oral and written communications skills, 1-2 years of social media experience with demonstrated expertise of social media platforms, 1-2 years of experience editing and developing websites and/or intranet sites, and a strong familiarity with website content management systems, Google Analytics and Adobe Creative Suite.
