The Most Predictable Crisis in U.S. History
The massive and growing national debt threatens opportunity and financial independence for all Americans. Younger generations are especially at risk as they carry the biggest burden from growing spending and rising debt. What’s driving the debt, why should you care, and what can be done to prevent the most predicable crisis in U.S. history?
Romina [Ro-meena] Boccia [Bought-cha] is a leading fiscal and economic expert at The Heritage Foundation. Boccia’s research and writing centers on controlling government spending, restoring federalism, eliminating corporate welfare, federal duplication and other government waste, updating the tax code, reforming Social Security, and securing opportunities for all workers to succeed in today’s economy.
Often introduced as “an economist who speaks English,” Boccia’s official titles are Grover M. Hermann research fellow in federal budgetary affairs and deputy director of Heritage’s Roe Institute for Economic Policy Studies.
She frequently advises members of Congress, the administration on fiscal and economic policy issues, and has testified before congressional committees in both the House and Senate. Previously, Boccia was a policy analyst at the Independent Women’s Forum, covering regulatory issues involving labor, the Internet, and energy policy.
Boccia has a master’s degree in economics from George Mason University in Fairfax, Va. She serves on the Foundation for Economic Education Alumni Board and is co-founder and former President of Liberty Toastmasters, a public speaking training hub for conservatives and libertarians in Washington, D.C.. In her spare time, she is an avid hiker, skier, and rock climber.
